The New Creation

New Creatures

(2 Cor 5:17 KJV)  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  ( a new species of being; one that never existed)

  • Gal 6:15  For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.  ( nothing but the new creature has any importance in the Kingdom of God.)

What are the attributes of a new creature?

  • Rom 5:5  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
  • Eph 2:6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
  • 1 Cor 1:30  But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
  • John 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
  • Eph 3:17  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
  • Eph 3:18  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
  • Eph 3:19  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
  • Eph 3:20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
  • John 17:9  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

John 17:10  And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

  • 1 John 2:20  But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
  • 2 Tim 1:7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
  • John 15:11  These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

  •    Mat 12:28  But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
  • Mark 9:1  And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
  • Luke 17:21  Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
  • John 8:23  And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
  • John 17:16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

  • John 14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
  • Mat 10:8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Through Matthew, Mark, Luke & John we have a vivid accounting of Jesus life and ministry.  He healed the sick, raised the dead, etc.  Then He says that these things shall we do and even greater that these.  What He has done is to lay out for us our starting place…NOT THE PLACE WE ARE TO TRY TO ATTAIN!

How often, though, have we prayed, “Lord, I want to be like Jesus” or “Jesus I want my life and ministry to be just like yours”?

The Fact is: 1 John 4:17  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.  The fact is that we are His Body.  Jesus' ministry is the place from which we are to start not the place we are supposed to end up.   He is our springboard….

So how can we see the things of Jesus ministry as the basic in our life and ministry?

By Faith!  We see and therefore experience the things of God by grace through faith.

  • Rom 5:2  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
  • 2 Cor 1:24  Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
  • Gal 3:24  Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Gal 3:25  But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Gal 3:26  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Okay, now you’ve told me what to do, how do I stand by faith in the Kingdom of God?  Let me first give you a Bible definition of faith: “Calling those things that be not as though they were.”

  • Rom 4:17  (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
  • Rom 10:8  But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

Rom 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 10:10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  • Heb 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
  • Heb 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
  • Rom 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
  • Rom 3:28  Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
  • Rom 5:1  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
  • Rom 4:3  For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
  • Rom 4:16  Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, Rom 4:17  (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
